Salesforce Marketplace: CloudCraze
Led design and hands-on UI development for a dealer marketplace on the Salesforce Lightning Platform, one of four Salesforce surfaces in the programme.
The problem
A global dealer and distributor network sold through a Salesforce programme. CloudCraze, Salesforce's B2B commerce product, ships with brand-neutral visual and interaction defaults, and its layouts assume consumer retail while dealers reorder by part number in volume.
What needed to be done
Adapt CloudCraze to the corporate UI standards and to how dealers actually buy, as one of four Salesforce surfaces in the programme (CloudCraze, IAM, Marketplace and OMS).
How the right problem was found
I compared the CloudCraze defaults with the corporate UI standards component by component to list the gaps in styling, typography and spacing, and reviewed how dealers reorder to find where retail layouts did not fit. Because design and build stayed with one person, I could tell early which designs the platform would resist. Brand implementation specifications were written once so the decisions would hold as the programme grew.
The outcome, measured
The marketplace looked and behaved like the brand, and a dealer moving between the four systems should not notice the seams. Native to the platform is not the same as native to the brand.
