AptLok: community and real estate platform
A Laravel platform for Indian apartment communities: association accounting, gate security, resident onboarding and a RERA-aware property marketplace.
The problem
Indian apartment communities often run on a treasurer's spreadsheet, a paper gate register and WhatsApp notices, and knowledge is lost whenever the committee changes. Residents also buy, sell and rent through channels disconnected from their community, with no easy way to check whether a project is regulator-approved.
What needed to be done
Design, build and run one platform covering association accounts, gate security, resident onboarding and a property marketplace, on my own, end to end.
How the right problem was found
I mapped the roles involved (committee, treasurer, residents, security staff, agents) and what each does today in spreadsheets, registers and chat groups, then decided which jobs needed to be in one system to stop knowledge leaking away. The regulator check was the riskiest dependency, so I isolated it in a separate Python scraper that cannot take the main app down if the regulator site changes.
The outcome, measured
A live platform at aptlok.com with role-based access, accounts with dues and late fees, gate and visitor logging, notices and a RERA-aware marketplace with a basic agent CRM.
