The problem

Drivers used a legacy app built for dispatchers on a desktop. On a phone, in a truck cab with gloves on, it was hard to read and slow to use, so drivers phoned dispatch for basic things.

What needed to be done

Design a driver-first app that works in daylight, with one hand, on weak signal.

How the right problem was found

I rode along with eleven drivers over three weeks. Large targets, high contrast and offline support were non-negotiable. I cut the stop flow to three actions, added proof-of-delivery by photo and designed everything to work without a connection and sync later.

The outcome, measured

Drivers finished stops faster and dispatch handled far fewer calls. The app became the standard for the whole fleet.
